HK119 is the solo project of Heidi Kilpelainen, a Finnish-born multitalented writer-singer-producer, designer, dancer, choreographer and renowned visual artist graduated from London's St Martin's College...or as Bjork once wrote on Q magazine "The Perfect blond woman".
Her second Album, "Fast, Cheap and Out of Control" (out on One Little Indian records) is a warning of sorts, touching upon (un)popular themes such as space travel, celebrity culture, cloning, surveillance, global warming, mind control and such other light hearted issues.
And it is with the same lightheartedness that Prolifica steps in to provide a confounding set of Mixes of her second single “MIND” (and the effect of WONDERPILLS)... which JeKO enriches with psychedelic moments and deep and dirty beats... R.O.D. takes it into the minimal tech house scene... and Some Dj, well... provides his own take on it.
All in all an essential tool for cosmic dj sets
About JeKO... often difficult to define by genre, Jeko look for inspiration from the diverse worlds of 70’s funk, 80’s new wave, hip hop and disco but also from cinema, art and fashion. Sergio and Simone really really love George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Michael Jackson and Zak & Roger but at the same time cannot stop listening to 80's synth pop and 90's Disco House. "We consider ourselves pretty eclectic, we just cannot focus on individual genres when we compose our tracks or produce other people, we find it so tempting to mix different flavours in our work, and we love doing that, it's so much fun!!!
